Description
J Russell & Co Green River Works One Armed Man's Knife Carbon Steel Bone Pewter 1860s 1879 Wood Care VG1 is similar to VG10 Echizen VG1 is similar to VG10 in carbon and chromium content (around 1% and 15% each respectively) but lacks the vanadium and cobalt of VG10 which makes VG1 easier to sharpen but with slightly less edge life We still recommend avoiding bones These were made for a long period of time but this is on the earlier side of production having a hot stamped marking which etching replaced in 1880 25" blade 8" overall 2
